To put that in perspective, The World Health Organization recently set a limit of 25g of added sugar per day. That’s not a lot when you consider that even a Starbucks pumpkin spice latte (venti) has 64 grams of sugar… but even if you get just 25 grams of added sugar per day, which is probably less than most people, it still comes out to 20 pounds of sugar over the course of the year! Fruit juices and soda are the largest source of added sugar for children aged between 4-18 and cutting those out of a child’s diet is a great start. Sugar addiction starts early.
