Interesting review of the therapeutic potential of psilocybin and other psychedelics, including recent randomized placebo-controlled trials demonstrating decreases in depression and anxiety, and potential long-lasting reductions in neuroinflammation.
One important thing to keep in mind is that in most clinical trials a history of any mental illness or even that of first degree relatives is exclusion criteria. Lots of research still to be done to determine clinical safety and relevance.
