The link between obesity and aging – insights into cardiac energy metabolism

Obesity and aging increase a person’s risk of many diseases, including cardiovascular diseases and type 2 diabetes. This review presents the hypothesis that obesity accelerates the process of cardiac aging, exacerbating clinical outcomes of older adults with obesity.
