Previously, the FDA warned that NSAIDs increase heart attack and stroke risk even with short-term use. NSAIDs disrupt mitochondrial function in heart cells and also endothelial nitric oxide production in blood vessels & may partly explain why chronic use increases the risk of heart attack.
