Prostate inflammation plays a major role in prostate cancer. Vitamin D is a hormone that regulates nearly 5% of the human genome and activates anti-inflammatory genes. 32 studies from January 1966 to January 2013 with more than 500,000 participants found that vitamin D blood levels between 40-60 ng/ml were associated with the lowest all-cause mortality.
