Omega-3 and vitamin B12 supplementation in rats increased nerve growth factor (NGF), which helps grow new brain cells and boosts acetylcholine levels and improved cognitive performance after 2 generations in rats.
The omega-3 and B12 also increased brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) which both also help grow new brain cells and maintain the blood-brain barrier.
