While this particular study looked at CRP levels through the lens of breast cancer risk, elevated CRP is associated with several types of cancers as well as other chronic diseases. This association between evening caloric intake and CRP was independent of potential lifestyle confounders, as well as the other dietary variables hypothesized to influence metabolic health (ie., nighttime fasting duration and eating frequency).
