The emerging role of exercise in Alzheimer’s disease: Focus on mitochondrial function
www.sciencedirect.com
Mitochondrial dysfunction plays a crucial role in aging and the development of Alzheimer’s disease. Exercise may improve mitochondrial function by releasing exerkines—molecules produced during physical activity that support mitochondrial health and enhance cell communication. This review highlights the benefits of exercise and explores the potential molecular mechanisms connecting mitochondrial function to Alzheimer’s disease.
