“00:45:39 - How Dr. Longo’s group has shown that, in animal models of multiple sclerosis and pharmacologically-induced type 1 diabetes, several cycles of the fasting-mimicking diet is able to reverse disease and restore healthful function.”

“Currently, only nicotinamide riboside has been shown to raise plasma NAD+ levels and may possibly have beneficial health effects in humans. Future research, focused on "super boosters," may have relevance for treating complex diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, cancer, and Alzheimer's.”

“Physicians regarded this structured and packaged diet as a medical therapy, and patients felt it was more acceptable since it allowed them to eat some food. The fasting-mimicking diet has opened up clinical trials on diseases such as cancer, diabetes and multiple sclerosis.”

“Across the modeled dose-response curves, one vigorous minute corresponded to 4.1 moderate minutes for all-cause mortality, 7.8 for cardiovascular mortality, 5.4 for major cardiovascular events, 9.4 for incident type 2 diabetes, and 3.5 for cancer mortality.”

“The estimated differences were larger for some specific outcomes. One minute of vigorous activity was associated with a risk reduction similar to 7.8 minutes of moderate activity for cardiovascular mortality and 9.4 minutes for incident type 2 diabetes.”

“Furthermore, coffee positively modifies gut microbiota composition and reduces inflammation, further strengthening its metabolic advantages. Thus, regular coffee consumption represents a powerful preventive strategy against diabetes and related metabolic disorders.”

“A growing body of scientific evidence suggests that moringin, an isothiocyanate compound derived from moringa, may provide protection against chronic diseases, such as cancer and diabetes, and may be useful in treating the symptoms of mental disorders, such as schizophrenia or autism, especially in developing countries.”

“Preliminary clinical studies suggest that these findings may translate to humans promoting metabolic dysfunction, potentially increasing the risk for type 2 diabetes. In this clip, Dr. Eran Elinav outlines the counter-intuitive discovery that artificial sweeteners may dysregulate glucose metabolism.”
