Diet high in saturated fat & low in refined sugar/processed foods improved triglycerides, insulin/blood sugar & more.

Dec 9, 2016

“This may be further evidence that it is the processed foods and refined sugar that can make saturated fat dangerous but in the absence of that junk food saturated fat is not bad (however, other genetic factors can also be important here). Many of the studies out there do not differentiate between a person eating a low refined-carb/high-saturated fat diet and the standard American diet.”

Higher blood levels of seafood & plant-based omega-3's are linked with a 10% lower risk of dying from heart attacks.

Jun 27, 2016

“This study pooled together data from 19 studies which involved 16 countries and included 45,637 participants. In other randomized clinical trials, omega-3's benefit multiple major cardiovascular risk factors, including triglyceride levels, blood pressure, heart rate, heart rate variability, endothelial function, and myocardial oxygen demand.”

Neonatal brain damage decreased by ~50% when a triglyceride lipid emulsion containing omega-3 DHA was injected within two hours of ischemic stroke

Jun 28, 2020

“His study published in 2011 found DHA triggered production of Neuroprotectin D1 (NPD1), a naturally occurring neuroprotective molecule in the brain derived from DHA and discovered by Dr. Bazan. Not only did DHA treatment salvage stroke-damaged brain tissue that would have died, its repair mechanisms rendered some areas indistinguishable from normal tissue by 7 days.”

Moderate intensity exercise releases a lipid-controlling hormone (called lipokine) that causes skeletal muscle to take up fatty acids.

May 31, 2018

“Moderate intensity exercise releases a lipid-controlling hormone (called lipokine) that causes skeletal muscle to take up fatty acids (in both mice and humans). The release of the lipokine also correlated with an increased capacity for mitochondrial energy production in humans and improved VO2max. It also seems to decrease circulating triglycerides.”

Dr. Bill Harris on the Omega-3 Index, Increasing Omega-3 to Improve Longevity & Heart Disease Risk

Dec 7, 2021

“Bang and Dyerberg's research revealed that the average Inuit had lower triglyceride and lipid concentrations than the average Dane. But the Inuit's concentrations were also lower than their Inuit peers living in Denmark, suggesting that environmental factors, rather than genetic ones, were at play.”
