“The study did not find any lower risk of cancer recurrence for those who ate peanuts which are a legume and not a tree nut. Nuts are great sources of many micronutrients and both fermentable fiber (which feeds the gut microbiome) and non-fermentable fiber.”

“A key player in suppression of tumor growth is autophagy, a biological process that inhibits cancer-cell survival and induces cell death. Learn more about how coffee induces autophagy in this clip featuring autophagy expert, Dr. Guido Kroemer.”

“Earlier treatments were linked to several better outcomes: - Earlier treatment was tied to longer periods before the cancer worsened (progression-free survival). Patients treated before 3:00 pm had 7.6 months without progression compared with 5.8 months for later treatment.”

“So, I'll give you, obviously, when you talk to a scientist, the most robust evidence is, well, we need a randomized controlled trial. We need to prove causation, right? Well, you're never going to get that because it takes decades for cancer to rear its ugly head.”

“Secondary analyses by the investigators indicated that the sulforaphane may be exerting its protective actions by activating a signaling molecule, NRF2, that elevates the capacity of cells to adapt to and survive a broad range of environmental toxins.“.”

“These data suggest that larger randomized controlled trials are warranted to investigate the protective effects of vitamin D on the side effects associated with immunotherapy cancer drugs.”

“The research is the largest study of its kind: more than 15,000 bowel cancer patients were asked about their current level of physical activity and whether they were advised to be more active after their diagnosis.”

“Obesity is associated with two times increased cancer risk and extreme obesity is associated with a 14 year reduction in lifespan. Magnesium is required for enzymes that repair DNA damage, a precursor to cancer and the aging process in general.”

“Epidemiological data indicate that regular exercise not only reduces the risk of developing cancer, but it also improves survival among people who have been diagnosed with cancer. Two theories have emerged to explain exercise's tumor-suppressive effects.”

“Observational studies associate lower magnesium intake with higher cancer incidence and mortality. One reported association linked each 100-milligram lower intake with higher pancreatic-cancer incidence. These studies do not prove that a magnesium supplement prevents cancer.”
