What Microplastics Are Doing to the Brain, Body, and Reproductive Systems

Sep 20, 2024

“Elevated phthalate levels during pregnancy are linked to a significant shortening of anogenital distance (AGD) in male infants, a key reproductive health marker. A shorter AGD is associated with birth defects like hypospadias and undescended testicles, both of which increase the risk of infertility and testicular cancer.”

Physical exercise reduces cancer incidence, lowers the risk of recurrence and inhibits tumor growth.

Oct 23, 2017

“Some of the mechanisms by which exercise protects against cancer and sensitizes cancer cells to death include: •Increased blood flow, shear stress on the vascular bed, temperature increases, sympathetic activation and endocrine (release of catecholamines and exercise hormones, myokine secretion) •Increased tumor perfusion, oxygen delivery, •Metabolic stress within the tumor, cellular damage…”

Pharmacological activation of circadian rhythm reduced the growth of glioblastoma in mice as effective as standard chemo but w/o side effects.

Jan 12, 2018

“Activation of this particular circadian pathway killed cancer cells by inhibiting lipid production and autophagy, which allows for the recycling of nutrients. Inhibition of access to nutrients prevented the cancer cells from dividing and growing because cancer cells need more nutrients and more recycled materials to build new cells.”

Pathogenic gut bacteria migrate to the pancreas in patients with pancreatic cancer.

Mar 26, 2018

“The bacteria prevents the immune system from attacking tumor cells, accelerating tumor growth. The study found that bacteria that are more abundant in pancreatic cancers (including proteobacteria, actinobacteria, and fusobacteria) release lipopolysaccharides (which are bacterial cell membrane components) and this shifts the key immune cells in the pancreas into immune suppression.”

Zinc

Aug 25, 2026

“Analysis of the questionnaires revealed that higher intake of dietary zinc from meat and seed sources was significantly correlated with an increase in the overall risk of benign prostatic hyperplasia. Separate studies have found that in patients with prostate cancer, tissue zinc levels are decreased compared to normal tissue.”
