“In a randomized factorial design, participants were assigned to one gram per day of algae-derived omega-3 or placebo, 2,000 IU of vitamin D3 or placebo, and a 30-minute home strength program three times weekly or a flexibility control.”

Dr. Levine shares personal habits she has developed to slow aging, including exercise, a plant-based diet, and time-restricted eating.

“Dr. D'Agostino asserts that a low carbohydrate diet incorporating intermittent fasting probably has more benefits than chronic ketosis for most healthy adults. Drs. D'Agostino and Patrick describe their experiences with fasting or time-restricted eating and its calming effects on the brain.”

“Independent finished-product testing can verify identity and selected contaminants, while diet, laboratory results, medicines, kidney health, age, and life stage can guide decisions about iron, vitamin D, omega-3, and magnesium.”

“Context-dependent memory, a type of memory that occurs when contextual cues facilitate memory recall, is based on the premise that during memory storage, contextual information, such as sounds, smells, or tastes, are also stored.”

“In a crossover study of 15 healthy adults, a single 0.35-gram-per-kilogram dose during acute sleep deprivation changed brain-energy metabolites and improved selected cognitive tasks.”

“Dr. Patrick also describes a trial in vitamin-D-deficient, overweight African-American adults in which 4,000 IU per day reduced an epigenetic-age measure by almost two years. Epigenetic age is a surrogate biomarker, not proof that vitamin D slowed clinical aging, prevented disease, or extended life.”

“The heart becomes smaller and less compliant with sedentary aging, which can limit how effectively it fills during exercise. In this clip from Dr. Rhonda Patrick's appearance on PBD Podcast, she describes a two-year randomized trial in healthy but sedentary adults ages 45 to 64.”

“Dr. Rhonda Patrick spent many months researching and learning about the myriad factors that would influence her child's development, and she has continued to do so as her son has grown – and as new research has become available.”
