“Findings from a recent study in mice found that PF4, an exerkine derived from platelets, promotes the production of hippocampal precursor cells in the brains of older mice. Researchers injected PF4 into mice and assessed its effects on hippocampal neurogenesis (the growth of new brain cells).”

“The study involved 11 healthy adults enrolled in a four-week high-intensity interval training (HIIT) program. The exercise load and duration gradually increased over the first three weeks of training (scaling up to 154 minutes per week) and then decreased for the final week to allow recovery.”

“A recent study found that deep sleep enhances left ventricular function – how well the heart's left ventricle pumps blood throughout the body with each heartbeat. Researchers recruited 18 healthy adult males to participate in a sleep study.”

“The findings from this study suggest that increasing the recommended amount, ensuring a daily intake of greater than 1.8 grams per kilogram of body weight, will pay the greatest dividends for promoting muscle protein synthesis in trained women.”

“Interestingly, another study found that the risk of developing mild hearing loss was nearly 30 percent lower among people who adhered to healthy dietary patterns such as the DASH diet or the Mediterranean diet, suggesting that diet may play a role in preventing mild hearing loss.”

“When people who had Botox injections viewed emotional facial expressions, they exhibited altered activity in their amygdala—an area of the brain involved in processing fearful and threatening stimuli. Read full publication.”

“The findings revealed that vitamin E had no effect on lowering CRP; however, vitamin C supplementation decreased CRP 16.7 percent compared to pre-treatment measurements, but only in participants who had baseline CRP levels above 1 milligram per liter.”

“Interestingly, they found that levels of apolipoprotein B, a protein associated with the development of atherosclerotic heart disease, were markedly lower after a month of fasting, and these lower levels persisted even one week after the fasting period ended.”

“Loneliness, a pervasive emotional state that adversely affects mental and physical health, increases the risk of many chronic health disorders, including cardiovascular diseases. A recent study found that loneliness increases the risk of stroke by as much as 56%.”
