Nicotinamide mononucleotide

Jul 11, 2026

“Cancer concerns Nicotinamide phosphoribosyltransferase (NAMPT) is the rate-limiting enzyme in the NAD+ salvage pathway that converts nicotinamide to nicotinamide mononucleotide. Both NAMPT and nicotinamide mononucleotide might have pro-angiogenic activity (the capacity to build blood vessels) and support the growth of some types of cancers.”

Neu5Gc

Jun 6, 2025

“Long-term exposure to Neu5Gc (approximately 21 months) produced a five-fold increase in carcinomas and an association with Neu5Gc accumulation in the tumors. Metformin

Jul 6, 2026

“In addition, a meta-analysis of 47 studies found that metformin use reduced overall cancer incidence by 31 percent and cancer death by 34 percent. Mechanistic studies in rodent models and human cancer cell lines suggest that metformin's anti-cancer properties may be related to the drug's capacity to reduce insulin levels, improve insulin sensitivity, decrease IGF-1 signaling, and activate AMPK.”

Omega-3 fatty acids

Jul 20, 2026

“This review, which involved more than 100,000 participants across 47 randomized controlled trials, found that long-chain omega-3s have little or no effect on cancer risk. However, many of the studies reviewed in this analysis were too brief to fully capture cancer risk, which is influenced by age and time.”
